3 Solutions to Help Grow a Commercial Business

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Whether a contractor already services the commercial roofing market or is just starting out, growing that side of the business can be quite challenging. GAF understands the pain points and is ready to help with the new  “Vendor of the Quarter” program exclusively for GAF factory-certified contractors (Master Elite®, Certified™, Master and Master Select™ contractors).  For 2015, GAF will feature vendor partner solutions to help contractors overcome three major obstacles to growth: equipment, cash flow, and websites.

  • Equipment… a recent survey found that only 40% of contractors had all the necessary equipment to install low-slope roofing and 51% said cost is the greatest barrier. GAF has partnered with Hapco and OMG to provide the equipment and training contractors need to tackle commercial projects big or small – from hot air roofing tools, automatic overlap welders, insulation attachment systems, money saving specialty kits, and more.  Price discounts ranging from $125 to $5,000 are available only to GAF certified contractors.
  • Cash Flow… waiting on the final payment for a commercial project can cause cash flow issues and potentially prevent a contractor from bidding on the next opportunity. Contractor Financial Services (CFS) can ensure payment within 24-48 hours to help improve cash flow and enhance a contractor’s ability to bid on more work.
  • Web… did you know that 70% of customers research online before making a purchase? Having a strong web presence is crucial, but 45% of contractors surveyed rated their website “Poor” for its ability to promote their commercial business. GAF has partnered with Surefire Social to help businesses build a professional-looking website and choose from customizable commercial roofing content to quickly get a website up and running.

Throughout 2015, GAF will be highlighting various Tools for Success vendors with various promotions and sweepstakes to help contractors remove these obstacles and expand their business in the commercial space.  The first opportunity is a chance to win a PRK2000 mobile repair kit and generator from Hapco. Learn more about the “Vendor of the Quarter” program and enter the contest, which runs now through March 31.

Sounds like a bold and wise strategic move from GAF. We would be interested in becoming certified as long as it is “Select Certification” and not handed out to anyone that inquires.
    Thank you.
