Which TPO is Best for Your Commercial Building?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

TPO is an increasingly popular roofing system, but there has been much confusion, exaggerated claims, and misinformation about the material. In order to shed light on–and begin to differentiate–the various brands, Structural Research Inc. (SRI), a highly respected laboratory, performed the largest independent performance study of all four major U.S. TPO brands.

SRI looked at GAF EverGuard Extreme® TPO (50 and 60 mil), GAF EverGuard® TPO (60 mil), Carlisle Sure-Weld® TPO with OctaGuard XT™ (60 mil), Johns Manville TPO (60 mil), and Firestone UltraPly™ TPO (60 mil) to determine which held up best to accelerated aging, the key indicator of TPO longevity. The study found there are significant differences.

Why is this important? If you are investing in a new TPO roof for your building, why not install the product that performed the best in independent testing for accelerated aging  – especially if they’re all priced about the same? To find out more, read the study and arm yourself with the information you need to make the best decision for the longevity of your property’s roof.
